I love an age gap story that has a little bit of the forbidden. Hudson hired Lilian two years ago as his assistant, and he was hooked. But she was off-limits because she worked for him and also because she was open about not having the time or want to date. Lilian is the best assistant he ever had, and is amazing with his son, Ollie. Lilian hasn’t had an easy life, her parents passed away when she was younger and she raised her little sister Carrie. Her life was dedicated to Carrie, but now Carrie was married and Lilian is floundering a little as to where her place is in life.
Hudson has been biding his time, and when he hears that Lilian is going to start dating again he loses it. He makes strides to take that next step, but his Lily fights it. I enjoyed this story and the interactions between Ollie and Lily were adorable. But there was something off about the book for me. It might be the fact that I am in a little bit of a book slump and am not connecting with some books the way that I want. Or it might be the book itself. But it was a good read and I am ready for the next story to come!
