Series: Book 1 of 2 The Oath Duet
The Don is the first book of the Oath Duet: An Italian Mafia Romance by Serena Akeroyd. The Don does end on a Cliffhanger
Luciu Valentini has finally taken his rightful place as The Don of Manhattan. Vengeance and family pressure are what are ruling Luciu life. Sicilian born he is seeking revenge against the Italian Family that caused harm to his family.
The first of his goals are to remove the last of the Italians. Next find his family’s missing rubies. What’s NOT on his list is finding a woman he can’t forget. A chance meeting and an instant connection leads to passion. Fate now has a hand hi Luciu next steps.
Jen is not the typical heroine. She is a user and vapid. She uses her body to move herself forward in life. Jen is a survivor at all costs even her own happiness. Between the two of them you will not be able to put this book down. She can be savage, but it’s completely understood in relation to her past, but it’s her resulting underlying vulnerability that draws Luciu in first.
Luciu is super-hot and magnetic man that works on intuition. He is drawn to Jen right from get and has this protective nature of Jen. Luc is drawn to her for her strength. He also appreciated that she goes after what she wants. They are so similar in their desire and what they want of the world instead of working against them it just strengthens the connection. The chemistry between starts on page one and burns so hot all the way to the Cliffhanger.
I really had a hard time connecting with Jen’s character and just as I was finally making that connection…BAM it ends! I liked Luciu other than he is not a patient man with those around him except for Jen. Between the two of them you will not be able to put this book down. I am desperate to read The Lady and to see how and if these 2 will get their HEA. I know it will be a fight and I am there for it!
