Hudson has been in love with Riley for years. Riley has been in love with Hudson for years. Each of them feared rejection and haven’t made any steps to move forward in these feelings.
All of this comes to a head one night before Hudson leaves for a year long trip. What follows is them working through their feelings and the missteps taken by both of them while they are thousands of miles apart. Riley makes attempts to reach Hudson to tell him everything, but those are met with silence. Hudson deals with his feelings in a completely different way. He is away, but he realizes while he is gone that his feelings are never going to change so he is going to do anything and everything he can once he returns home to make Riley his. It isn’t smooth sailing once Hudson does return home because of a lot of ideas that each of think are truths. Even with the separation and the way in which it plays out, there isn’t a lot of angst in this story. I really enjoyed the way in which Ryan treats these two and their conflict. I am really hoping that we get a story for Raven and Clayton, Riley’s twin sister and one another of their best friends.
