Bratva and Betrayal | Deborah Garland
I am not even sure where to start with this book! I was so excited to get my hands on Kirill and Sandrine’s story after reading Mafia Obsession and it did not disappoint at all! I totally binged in a day! Readers were left wondering what Kirill and Sandrine’s connection was because he was so obsessed with her that I knew there had to be a reason for the obsession. But the twists and turns that Deborah brought us on in this book were simply amazing! One of the things that I think that is often glossed over in mafia romance books is how cruel some rules, traditions, and old school mafia men can be; and the things that their children endure in the name of the business. Kirill will become the next Pakhan of the Bratva in Chicago and he has big plans to become the leader of all of the Bratva in the US. But before that can happen he needs to find his wife and his father needs to die. His father is a cruel cruel man who once garnered the respect of a lot of people in Chicago, but those not those closest to him. I personally love how Kirill defied his father and followed his heart.
Sandrine has been lost for the last few years, only having her sister to fill in the lonely gaps of her memory. My heart really broke for Sandrine- she didn’t have much of a life and was working hard to remember her old self. While her sister was doing the best that she could- she was also working with half truths as she was also fed lies. As the memories came back to her I love how her natural instincts took over and the true connection that she had with Kirill, Violet, and his family.
In truth amnesia books are usually not my favorite but this one. This one is something special. It was a whole plot point and made Kirill and Sandrine’s relationship make a lot of sense. This pair had magnetic chemistry that was so hot I was afraid my kindle was going to melt!
If you enjoy dark romance, twists, intense connections this book and series is for you! While I think you could read this as a standalone it really pairs well with Mafia Obsession- to say I am looking forward to book three in this series is a serious understatement!
