The Sneak Peak | Victoria Wilder

Friends to lovers is one of my absolute favorite tropes, and I think sometimes they are hard to pull off.  However, Veronica Wilder was able to knock this one out of the park! This book checks off all of my kryptonite boxes; single dad, nanny, small town, best friends, age-gap, and a sassy family! If you love any of those tropes I would highly recommend this book!
First off, Michael.  He is one of the most likable, from page 1  heroes I have read in a long time.  This man feels so deeply and puts his family first.  He is an amazing father; be ready to fall head over heels not only for Michael but Sammy & Miles, too!  His twins stole the show when they were on page! Michael has put his family, mainly his kids’ needs first for years.  And has relied on the support of his family and best friend, Grace.  It is no secret that Grace or Gracie as most folks call her has been in love with Micheal for the better part of a decade.  Due to their age difference Michael seems to always play it off, but Grace is nothing but persistent.  After attending school overseas she is back in her small town helping Michael and their family continue to build their empire in the sports world.  She is also looking to explore her sexuality and when Michael gets wind of this plan, he knows that he cannot stomach Grace with another man.
These two have some serious smoldering.  Man can Victoria write some serious sexual tension.  HOLY buckets! I thought my Kindle was going to melt.  WOWZER.  On top of sexual tension, the steamy scenes never ever once disappointed and were so darn HOT!  Grace and Michael have the most amazing connection that was built on friendship and a mutual respect of one another.  I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention the way Michael’s work through anxiety. This was done so well.  I REALLY appreciated the inclusion of strategies he uses to manage his anxiety as well as his ongoing therapy.  I read this book as a standalone, and did not feel lost at all, but I for sure want to go back and read the rest of the books in this series, and cannot wait for more from this family and author!
