This is a book that you must read. Lexi Ryan has outdone herself with this book. Abbi and Dean are two people who have known each other for a long time, and each harbor unrequited feelings for the other. Dean is in a mess and is struggling to remove himself from he toxic environment he created for himself. Abbi is in a constant struggle to see her self-worth and the positives in her life outside of her profession. Dean has worked excessively hard to create a life for himself that is all his own, and doesn’t mimic his fathers, because of rotten words spoken to him. Abbi is continually down on herself because of the toxic men she has dated in the past.
This story follows the journey of these two as they embark down a road of discovery. To find themselves and to fully see how the most important people in their lives view. They both go through a TON of self-discovery, and truly see the other as more than they ever see themself. Dean is truly amazing in his reactions and feelings towards Abbi…even in their darkest moments he never sees her as less than she is. The most amazing woman. Abbi has such a jaded view of reality that it takes Dean to show her how she is holding herself back and to a standard that none of her true friends see her. I loved every word on this book, it is a true tome of self-discovery, self-improvement, and self-love. Abbi doesn’t need Dean to make her better…she needed to him to show her that she is perfect just as she is. Dean doesn’t need Abbi to make him whole…he needed her to show him that he is perfect as he is. They have flaws because they are human…but those flaws enhance their beings. This book is truly an amazing read and I couldn’t put it down. If you read one book this month…you NEED to make it this one!
