Remington found out he has a son from friends with benefit situation, he didn’t know, and found out after she passed away.  Santana is his co-worker/employee/friend and helps him take care of his son Tobias.  Remy has lost his footing and is a mess of anxiety and takes a lot of those frustrations out on Tana.  She is brilliant with Toby but has gotten to the point where she only deals with Remy in small doses and when she has to.  Remy finally realizes the damage he has done to their friendship and decides that enough is enough, he is going to claim this woman who has him tied up in knots that he has been pining over since they started working together.  I love Mary B. Moore and her writing style.  She is able to bring the serious and the ridiculous together in a way that works.  I snort laughed no less that 5 times because of the things that she has her characters say and do.

Even with her own brand of humor, she delves into the world of tragedy and oh boy, there is some in this book.  But the one thing that stands out is the love of family whether DNA or chosen.  She has some amazing moments in this book where you wish that you were a part of these families.

This book stands alone well on its own.  You do NOT need to read the previous 3 books in the series to understand what is going on, but there are some antics that occur in the previous books that you don’t want to miss.
