Last Round is truly the last of the Twisted Fox series. We met Silas all the way back in book one, and this book runs congruently to that at first and then continues past it. Silas and Lola first meet and they have an instant amount of chemistry, but neither of them are at good place. So what follows is the two of them becoming good friends. Best friends actually. Although, as the book transpires we find that Silas is much more closed off even with Lola than anyone realized. There are moments in this book that my heart breaks for Lola because she was so open with Silas about a lot of things and he never reciprocated, but he did it in a way that until reality comes to light, she doesn’t realize it. There are moments that you can help but be frustrated by Silas because of how closed off he is with the people who love him the most. But when you find out exactly why and what happened you can understand. At the same time though, if he was more open and willing to talk then he may not have felt the amount of guilt he did for years.

Silas and Lola get to a point where they start to circle around each other, and when Lola decided to make moves to something more. Each and every time Silas pulls back or makes a decision that inadvertently hurts her. And then she beings to question whether or not, the love that she truly feels for him is worth it at all. Especially because of their history. But when Silas FINALLY decides to be open and honest with her because of events that happen all the shields come down and the slow burn is worth it.
