Den of Sins by Alta Hensley and Renee Rose

“Indulge in a spicy and dangerous mafia romance: A meet cute you won’t forget!”

Book 1 in the Chicago debut by Alta Hensley and Renee Rose. This mafia romance is a meet cute with danger and lots of spice.

I found this book to be quite engaging, particularly as a fan of dark mafia romances. The main character, Armando, is a mafia-made man struggling to adjust to life outside of prison. He embodies the typical traits of a mafia man: dominant, possessive, protective, and cold. His polar opposite is Hannah, who owns a flower shop and is very emotional, kind-hearted, and submissive. However, I wasn’t particularly fond of Hannah’s character, as I found her lack of assertiveness and certain mannerisms frustrating.

Despite the minimal plot, which consists of only three major events, the chemistry and passion between Armando and Hannah was captivating, and the abundance of spice certainly did not disappoint. While I did wish there was more to the plot, I enjoyed the connection between the two main characters. This being book 1, the ending leaves readers on a cliffhanger, but I’m eager to see where the story goes in book 2!
