Can’t Get Enough by Kennedy Ryan

Kennedy Ryan has a gift for storytelling that goes beyond romance—she writes with heart, purpose, and an unflinching commitment to portraying real life with all its beauty and pain. Can’t Get Enough, the final installment in the Skyland series, is no exception.

This is Hendrix’s story—a fiercely ambitious, successful businesswoman juggling her thriving career and the deeply personal challenge of caring for her mother, who is battling Alzheimer’s. Romance is the last thing on her mind… until she meets tech mogul Maverick Bell.

As always, Ryan tackles heavy topics with grace and nuance. The depiction of Alzheimer’s and the emotional toll it takes on both the person diagnosed and their caregiver was heartbreakingly real. Hendrix’s quiet grief, her fierce protectiveness, and the tender, complicated moments with her mother were some of the most moving parts of the novel. The love that fills their home—with Aunt G offering her unique warmth and wisdom—radiates off the page.

And let’s talk about the Skyland sisterhood—Hen, Sole, and Yas. These women are the backbone of this series and shine just as brightly here. Their bond is unwavering, supportive, and full of the kind of vulnerability and strength that makes you want to call your best friends the second you finish reading.

Hendrix, in particular, is the kind of heroine we don’t see often enough. She’s bold, independent, unapologetically child-free by choice, and deeply rooted in her sense of self. Kennedy Ryan excels at writing women like her—fully formed, emotionally complex, and unapologetically powerful.

Maverick Bell is swoon-worthy in all the right ways—supportive, emotionally intelligent, respectful. But I’ll admit, the romance didn’t completely hit home for me. While the chemistry is there and the spice is definitely there, parts of their connection felt more like trauma bonding than natural romantic development. I also struggled with the subplot involving Maverick’s ex and the emotional weight it placed on Hendrix, who already had enough on her plate. That storyline pulled focus in a way that made the romance feel a bit uneven.

That said, I would absolutely read a spin-off about Hendrix and Maverick’s assistants—those dynamics had just the right spark 👀.

Overall, Can’t Get Enough is a beautifully told, emotionally honest story that balances difficult topics with genuine connection and heat. While the romance didn’t fully land for me, I still found this an incredibly rewarding read. Kennedy Ryan remains a one-click author, and I’ll always be eager for whatever she writes next.
