Callum and Aida are forced to marry to join the families because of some actions that occurred. They are not on board with this because they have a lot of animosity towards one another. This book is the first in series, so you get a decent amount of world building, but it doesn’t take away from the book as a whole. There are enough moments between Aida and Callum that you don’t notice the world being created.
These two rubbed each other so wrong at the beginning. But a big part of it was the fact that Aida is view quite differently than she truly is. I loved the fact that once Callum started seeing her in a new light that he allowed her to flourish and didn’t try to stifle here. There were moments of tension, but it made sense. I am not always a huge fan of mafia books, but this may change that view.
