Fossil Feud by Maggie North
For Science!
Fossil Feud takes readers into the world of paleontology in a way that feels richly researched and completely immersive. Maggie North’s fascination with the field shines through on every page, and that passion is evident in how vividly the Montana dig site comes to life.
Ripley and James are both interesting as individual characters. He has clearly been pining for her for a long time and that thigh tattoo did not go unnoticed. Something kept me from fully connecting with their romance, though, I can’t quite put my finger on what. The foundation is strong and their dynamic makes sense, but it did not flow together as naturally as I hoped.
The first stretch of this book had me completely hooked and the final act delivers. Readers who love STEM romance with a strong heroine and a slow burn worth rooting for will find a lot to enjoy here.
