This is the story of Cas and Jules. Jules is a single mom that works at the bar that the team frequents. Cas has been attracted to her since they met, but didn’t do anything to move that attraction forward. Jules is very leary of hockey players because of her past, and when you find out the depths of it, you can understand why. I usually love these books, and I really enjoyed this one as well, but there was something that didn’t hit for me. I am not sure if it was the lack of background on Cas that we didn’t get when I felt that we should, or there was almost a too easy wrap up of some of the story lines. This is a good addition to the team, and these hockey players as a whole are a great read. Jules was a strong character that had hang-ups and it took her a while to work through them. She needed to trust, and I think that Faber did a good job getting that relationship across in a natural and organic way, but again there was something that was off for me in this story. That’s not to say I won’t continue to read this series because I will.
