Mom’s Banana Bread Recipe ~
Who knew when I mentioned my mom’s famous banana bread recipe people would actually want it! Well, here is it, friends! My mom said that she found it in some cookbook she has had since the 1970’s and it has been a family favorite since. We do not add nuts or chocolate chips but I suppose you could…but we like it classic around here. My mom and I hope you and those you make it for love it as much as we have!
The recipe:
Banana Bread
Ingredients
½ cup butter (1 stick)
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe banana
¼ cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda (baking soda)
½ tsp salt
(nuts are optional)
Directions:
Pre-heat over to 350° F
Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs, and stir in banana, milk, and vanilla.
Mix in by hand remaining ingredients until combined.
Put into a 9×5 loaf pan greased on the bottom only.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
