I was so excited for this series because I love Catherine Cowles work. However, after this book I was left wanting more. Maybe it was because I did a huge binge during the last year, but the story was interchangeable with so many of her other stories. She has a formula to her writing and I usually love that. But with those formulas I want a diversity of character types, but I didn’t feel as though I got that this time around. It felt as though, I could chance the character names and small town name and be reading a previous book without a lot of different.

The story itself was strong and well thought out, but I needed more from it. I want to see a variety of characters and I want an author to push themselves with their storylines. I did not get that the time. That being said, I WILL read Catherine Cowles in the future, but she is an author that I need to space out more between books.
