I was a little hesitant with this book because I haven’t loved the last couple of Tia Louise books. But this one….Spencer is a broken and damaged man who’d doesn’t feel worthy of truly anything. Joselyn is a woman who has been beat down in a sense by recent events, but still feels worthy of all the big things in life. These two are combustible together, even though Spencer fights against it any chance he gets. He is such an anti-hero and you don’t want to like him at all, but he slides into your heart with his gruff ways and you just want to hold and hug him. There was a moment that I wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to turn it around and be the man that Sly deserves, but he does and he does it in a big way. There was so much back and forth, push and pull, happy and sad throughout this book. But it is worth every second of the read.
