The Trouble with an Heir by Stacey Kennedy

The Trouble with an Heir is book four in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Diamonds & Dating Apps Series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone. This was my first book in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jessica Drummond is a glamping business owner and aspiring chef hired to handle the food for an engagement party between the feuding Del Rio and Winters families. Marcus Winters is the CEO of a luxury goods line and is in charge of designing the engagement party for his brother. Sparks immediately fly when Marcus and Jessica meet and she tells him his design for the party is uninspired, but they figure out a way to work together to make this the best party the Texas Cattleman’s Club has ever seen. They cannot keep their hands off each other and embark on a type of friends with benefits situation because circumstances prevent them from being in a relationship. An old family mystery comes to light that causes even more problems for Jessica and Marcus. They eventually find a way through their obstacles to the HEA.

I recommend this book if you’re looking for a fast-paced story with a hint of mystery and plenty of steam.
