Christmas Valley by Maisey Yates

An enjoyable, easy way to wrap up the Rustler Mountain series.

Christmas Valley is a fun conclusion to the Rustler Mountain series. Cassidy and West understand each other in a way that goes beyond all the family history and expectations surrounding them. I really enjoyed watching that connection develop.

West ended up being my favorite part of the book. I really liked seeing him work through his late ADHD diagnosis and the way it shaped how he viewed himself. He questioned what he thought he could offer someone. There is a real vulnerability to him, especially in the moments when he admits how much he wants to be taken care of instead of always being the one holding everything together. His relationship with Cassidy brought out a softer side of him. I loved watching him realize that he was worthy of being loved. Cassidy could come across as a little sheltered at times, but she ended up being a good match for West.

I especially enjoyed their time working together on the Wild West show. West’s conversations with his parents added some nice depth to his story. There are some fun Christmas touches throughout, although I would have liked even more of that given the setting and the gorgeous cover.

Overall, this was an enjoyable and easy read, and a good way to wrap up the Rustler Mountain series.
