The CEO and The Mountain Man | Kelly Fox
I love a great small town author collaboration and I will be honest if Kelly Fox writes it; I read it simply as that. But I really think that Kelly knocked it out of the park with this one. She has such a knack for writing characters that we love almost immediately, characters that are going through it, deep emotions, amazing chemistry and often makes us cry. This book is no different. Clark finds himself a single father and his son is really struggling after losing his mother in a car accident. Clark is a CEO but really cares about people but above all his son. I really think that there isn’t much he wouldn’t do for River. In a desperate attempt to help heal both he and his son he books a trip to a ranch in Colorado. It is awesome because River is an artist and Clark is a CEO from the big city of Chicago! The hilarity of Clark acclimating to a ranch had me laughing out loud!
Beau works on a ranch where they often work with teens and he most definitely sees something special in River but he literally cannot keep his eyes off Clark. Beau really has such a genuine kind heart and also loves and sees people. He never pushes teens, especially River. I enjoy the way that Beau and Clark connected as friends and their romance came second after a little bit of an awakening on Clarks end! Once these two connected on an intimate level they literally could not keep their hands off one another! These two could not keep their hands off one another, but their emotional intimacy is what really warmed my heart. These two might have fallen in love quickly but they really opened up to one another! I felt like we were getting a two for one on this book because as Clark was falling in love, so was River. It was so amazing to watch River come out of his shell and heal. If you love a lot of heart with a fair amount of heat in your small town, I cannot recommend this book more! I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this series! And if Kelly Fox has never been on your radar- do yourself a favor and read her backlist!
