Series: The Burn Series Book 4
As sad as I am to see this series come to an end, it could not come in a more perfect way. From the prologue to the epilogue Emma Renshaw kept me thoroughly pulled into this story. What started 10 years ago in a tragedy we follow these people effected by this tragedy. What they did after, how they attempted to move on, and how their partners in life truly allow them to become comfortable in their grief. Grief never goes away, but the guilt felt does. Colt and Makenna are destined to be together. They work through their secrets, their love, their tragedies together and come out better in the end. They allow themselves to work through things apart but realize that they need the other to truly be at peace with what happened in their lives. I was NOT expecting Colt’s secret to play out the way it did, but I loved the way that Renshaw doesn’t sugarcoat the tragedy that it is. It shows how one moment makes all the difference. One decision can haunt you for your life. But it was you do with those moments remaining. We see how this group of friends bring strength to the forefront even whey they wish they could hide. I am sad to see this group go, but hope we can check back in on them from time to time.
