Review: Tristan & Isabel: Apartment 11F by Aly Stiles
Rating: 4.5/5 PoP:45% Wreck Me Series Book 3
Four years ago, Isabel’s highschool crush and brother’s best friend went to prison for a tragedy. Tristan has just been released on parole and a stipulation of that is having a place to live. This is how he ends up living on Kim and Isbel’s couch. There is a tension and stress between all the relationships in the book at the first. Tristan and Isabel chemistry is palpable, even though Tristian is a shell of the man he once was.
I was really glad that what could have been the biggest stress between Tristian and Isabel was addressed early in the book. But as the truth comes out they find out that it does not change the situation they find themselves in. The truth does not always make things easier, and justice does not always follow the truth. All the characters in this book must face the past and the impact it has had on the present.
I was concerned for a bit about this being a love triangle but it is not. Pierce is a prick from the beginning. But his character demonstrates how easily someone can abuse their power and those around them. I knew Tristan would be a complex individual, and he did not disappoint. He is such a tortured soul, but his selfishness is expodental. Isabel has come through a lot of her own hurt and I feel as if seeing Tristan again snapped her out of a daze. She was not fully living before but rather waiting. This is a heartbreaking story to get through but highlights so many of the truths we all live with daily. And that a “normal” HEA is still an HEA to live for.
