Review : Sliver Mayor
Being that I am part of the over 40 crowd I have a total thing for Sliver Foxes. The Silver Mayor was my first exposure to the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series. Charlie is the town Mayor of Blue Ridge. The very good looking, charming single father of Lucy and seems to be a very likeable good guy.
The meet cute for Charlie and Janessa is unique and spectacular. Charlie is completely lost for words when he walks into his bedroom and finds a woman standing there with his grandmother’s ring on her ring finger. This was a totally unguarded WTF moment for him.
Janessa and her daughter have moved in with her parents while she figures out what to do next after her marriage imploded. Her husband is a well-known sport celebrity that brings unwanted publicity into their life so laying low for a while is just what she needs. Janessa’s parents live on the Mayor’s compound and are employees of his.
Charlie and Janessa have another random meeting when their daughters have a play day bring them both face to face again. Once again Charlie is shocked to see Janessa at work the next day when she applies for a job for the local council, why is she suddenly appearing everywhere? Just when he thought they’d had enough close encounters for now, he sees her again on his property watching him work out.
Janessa’s daughter, Vega, and young become best of friends fairly quickly constantly throwing these two in each other’s paths. The chemistry between Charlie and Nessa is ridiculously hot and I loved every second of it. These random encounters lead to an explosive love story between them. They cannot keep their hands or other parts off each other; Charlie has earned the nickname “Mayor McSteamy”!
This book made me cry a few times, there are a lot of emotions and feels coming from all side in this relationship. Charlie has baggage from an ex wife and Janessa’s husband is no peach himself. I don’t want to give too much of the story away but just know that you MUST read this as soon as it releases on June 4th! I will highly recommend this to all my friends! This was a 4.5 /5 star read for me.
