Risky, the second book in the Adventures in Love, I liked it so much more than the first book in the series.

Blake is the grumpiest of heroes.  He is barley living.  He was a total jerk when we met him in Rushed and in Risky, we get a lot more insight into what was making him tick, setting him off, and generally making him behave like an unruly bear.

Blake is just moving day to day to get by until Everly comes into his world as the Office Manager of his outdoor adventure company.

Everly recently returned home with her young son. Starting over is never easy but Everly does it with grace and acceptance.  I really liked her character. While she isn’t pure sunshine all the time she is grounded in the reality of her situation. She is working to move forward and make her life the best for her and her son Sampson.

I really loved all the side characters from Everly’s parents, Blake’s parents, (Blake’s Dad made me a little mad! ) and Blake’s Grandmother. Blake’s sister was a great addition to their story. It felt almost parallel to Everly and Blake. The feels in this story are enhanced by all these characters and add to how great the story is.

The slow burn gentle evolution of this story is one of the things I love most about romance.  I felt every step forward with this couple. I understood Everly’s hesitation and that she needed clear guidelines to where they stood.  Blake grounds Everly. He trues knows her and shows her he loves her in small ways.

Aurora Rose Reynolds writes some of my favorite romances. Her stories stick wit your soul and live in your heart always.  Her characters are feisty and have a strength that stays with you long after you read the story.  I really enjoyed this story and am excited for book 3 in the series.
