Review: Girl in the Love Song

A coming of age story of  Miller and Violet.

This is one of the most emotional coming of age stories I have read in a long time.  Emma Scott has a very special voice when creating these characters.  Each character is complex and adds so much to the story.   The emotions of this story seem to bleed from the pages creating a truly powerful love story.

The Girl in the Love song is a very well written story full of teenage drama, growing pains, evolution of friendship.  All of the characters are beautifully flawed both the main and the supporting characters.  Each character adds so much to the story. This once in a lifetime love in this story gives you so much hope for Miller and Violet.  At such a young age they seem to overcome so many the obstacles in their way.  This isn’t your everyday Rockstar romance. I wouldn’t even really call it a Rockstar romance.  It is more about finding your missing piecing, a once in a lifetime love.

This was a story of self-discovery and following your heart.  This was a 4/5 read for me.  It is very well written and a wonderful story.  I would classify this as more a Mature YA read over a New Adult Genre.  Also, this isn’t really a Rockstar romance, it is more about navigating they trials of growing up and finding your place.
