Review: Finding Home by Lauren Rowe

I absolutely loved this single-dad, rockstar romance! Finding Home was such a unique and emotional read—it completely sucked me in from the very start.

💙 Rockstar romance
💙 Single dad
💙 Forced proximity
💙 Opposites attract

Caleb and Aubrey couldn’t be more different, and yet, fate forces them together in the most heartbreaking way. After a tragic accident takes the life of Raine’s mother, Aubrey, who has been like a second mom to the little girl, steps in to care for her. But when Caleb—Raine’s biological father—learns of the loss, he immediately wants to take custody to protect his daughter from her terrible grandfather.

Caleb is a complex, deeply flawed character. There were moments I absolutely hated him, but watching his growth into fatherhood was so rewarding. His transformation was raw, emotional, and beautifully written. Aubrey, on the other hand, is an absolute gem. Without hesitation, she takes on the responsibility of caring for Raine, showering her with unconditional love and support. I adored how she and Caleb, despite their differences, slowly came together, breaking down walls and finding something unexpected in each other—love.

The audiobook narration was top-tier, as expected from Lauren Rowe’s productions. Sean Masters’ growly, intense delivery was perfect for Caleb, capturing his rough edges and inner turmoil flawlessly. Andi Arndt’s performance was sweet and full of warmth, embodying Aubrey’s nurturing spirit. However, I did struggle a bit with believing Andi’s voice as that of a 24-year-old. While it didn’t take away from the overall experience, it was something I noticed.

Finding Home was everything I wanted for Caleb’s redemption and so much more. As someone who has read all of Lauren Rowe’s books, I’ve been eagerly waiting for Caleb’s story since he was first mentioned, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint. Aubrey was the perfect match for him, balancing his self-destructive tendencies with kindness, strength, and an unwavering belief in his worth. She gives him a safe space, a real family, and a reason to finally open his heart.

And can we talk about the production quality? Incredible. I loved hearing Caleb play the drums—it added such an immersive touch to the audiobook experience.

I don’t know what to do with myself now that this story is over. Lauren, if you’re listening, we need a second-generation series because I am not ready to let these characters go!
