Jude and Lena have been circling each other from the moment they met. Jude has PTSD and a lot of hang-ups after being a POW and feels that he isn’t’ enough for Lena. He also thinks that his history will be detrimental to Lena.
Lena has been floundering since being attacked in a pervious book (you do NOT need to read these in order to understand the story). She owns the local coffee shop and has a smile for everyone and hides the fact that she isn’t dealing with the aftermath of what happened to her and Evie.
There have been some things happening, and Jude realizes that he has been wasting time not being with Lena. But then things start happening that threaten Lena’s business and he feels ever more that he made the right decision moving forward.
There is just something about the way that this series is written that keeps you engage from page one to the last. The storyline is entertaining, the way in which the relationship progresses is natural and believable. It gives voice to PTSD while not throwing it into your face. I am loving this series and the way it plays out.
