This series really focuses on the trials of PTSD. Each of the heroes has scars.  Internal as well as external but the way in which this co-written series is what I enjoy the most.  There is a focus on the power of healing and different forms of therapy that exist for people.  And also, that while one might put in the work, it is an ongoing process.  That it is okay to struggle, but to never lost focus on moving forward.

Kate is reeling from the actions of her brother, who is dealing with PTSD of his own, but not in a healthy way.  Noah is a protector and feels something for Kate from the moment he sees her.  He knows that there is something going on, and wont’ allow her to deal with it on her own.  He has some struggles through the book and setbacks, but Kate doesn’t let him push her away.  There are some truly emotionally charged moments in this book, and you will be heartbroken, but at the same time you can’t get enough.  This series is on point and once I open to that first page, I don’t put it down until it is finished.
