Twisted Little Games by Lane Hart
Mafia Heat Meets Legal Firepower
Twisted Little Games is book three in the New York City Mafia series by Lane Hart, and it’s my favorite of the series so far. If you’ve read the Sin City Mafia series, you know Hart can get downright unhinged with characters. While this one isn’t as over-the-top bonkers as Sin City Mafia, it’s still addictive, gritty, and full of the kind of character tension that keeps you flipping pages long after bedtime.
The Ferraro family is still at the center of it all, dealing with pushback from rival mafia families. There’s an overarching series plotline that hasn’t wrapped up yet, and honestly? That’s one of the best things about reading a well-written mafia romance series. The anticipation is delicious, and I’m anxiously counting down to see how it all ends.
Kirsten and Tristan – A Dangerous, Delicious Match
This time around, the focus is on District Attorney Kirsten Hunt and Tristan Ferraro. On paper, these two should be on opposite sides of the law. In reality? They click on a level that neither of them wants to admit. Tristan’s goal is simple: get Kirsten to drop the charges against him and his cousins—by any means necessary. But what starts as a manipulative game quickly turns into something much more dangerous… and much more enticing.
Both Kirsten and Tristan are a little unhinged, and that’s exactly why they work. Their connection is electric, full of sharp banter, simmering attraction, and moments that blur the line between hate and want. Lane Hart pushes the envelope with these two, making them as compelling as they are unpredictable.
Why This One Worked So Well:
- Unlikely pairing magic – A DA and a mafia heir? Yes, please.
- Series tension – The overarching Ferraro family storyline adds depth and urgency.
- Chemistry overload – Tristan and Kirsten’s dynamic is pure fire.
- Pacing that keeps you hooked – The balance between romance, danger, and mafia politics is spot-on.
With Twisted Little Games, Lane Hart continues to shine as one of the best at writing dark, sexy mafia romance with just the right amount of chaos. The Ferraros may not be as unhinged as the Sin City crew, but they’re every bit as captivating. I’m hooked, I’m invested, and I’m impatient for the next book.
