Sweet Like Whiskey | Emmy Sanders

I am definitely in my cowboy era, so when Emmy Sanders announced this series set in small town Montana I was SOLD … .and the more she teased us the more excited I got.  But I was not prepared. Ashley (Ash) and Jackson were simply amazing.  From their ‘meet cute’ to the very last word in Sweet Like Whiskey I was engrossed.

Ashley or Ash Alcott is in desperate need of a new and fresh start so he makes his way west to where his best friend lives; Darling, Montana which is a stark contrast to his life in Maine.  But he is 100% ready for something new. Trust me when I tell you that you will IMMEDIATELY fall in love with Ash and never ever question why Jackson was spellbound from the moment he laid his eyes on Ash.  Ash has such a presence about him on the page, he is so kind, caring, holds his own, intuitive, and so so funny! He takes things in stride and really takes in his surroundings and is able to see the good in everything.

Jackson Darling thinks he has everyone fooled into believing that he is a grumpy grump, but really everyone knows that he is just the gooiest cinnamon roll ever! This man loves and loves so darn hard! Jack is also so very funny and had me laughing out loud several times! Jackson LOVES to banter and will banter with just about anyone- and while I loved the banter or flirting he had with Ash it is the witty comebacks he had with his mom that kept me laughing!

Jackson and Ash really were drawn to one another and as much as Jackson wanted to deny it he just could not get Ash off his mind.  And together these two were electric! This duo really are such a perfect match I could literally not imagine these two without one another- I felt like I was reading the story of  how two of my dear friends met and fell in love! Emmy Sanders wrote another amazing small town cowboy that has me wanting to pack my bags and move to Darling Montana just so I can hang out on the ranch to watch the Darling shenanigans unfold!
