When you crack open a PNR romance… you don’t really expect to laugh. Juliette Cross gives me something that I never realized that I needed. This book is poignant, hilarious, and engaging. Wolf shifter, Mateo Cruz can’t shift and his wolf, Alpha, is speaking to him which had never happened again. Oh Alpha, while he is a part of Mateo, he is truly a character on his own. There is nothing about this book that I didn’t like. I laughed, but there were also some really emotional moments.
Evie Savoie is a witch, and the relationship she has with her sisters is one for the books. These women create this wholeness the tyou don’t always get in family series. They fight, they have their moments, but you know and understand that they will truly be there for each other in every way possible. Even when they don’t agree.
The world that Cross created is dynamic and exciting. She made it in such a way, it’s almost as though if you went to New Orleans, you would be treated with the presence of these characters. I have held off on this series because I KNEW that I was going to need to rabbit hole down it…. and I was right. I am so excited to see where these Savoie sisters take us.
