This book starts off with a heartbreaking prologue.  But from there, we meet a strong and confident doctor and an alpha DEA agent that butt heads from the get-go.  These two have history, not with each other, but with their respective employers and they each have a bias against the other when they first meet.

However, Dr. Tori Sampson and Special Agent Adam Decker slowly move past that animosity to something more.  Deck has a chip on his shoulder because of his past, and he holds a grudge against the people he feels are in the wrong.  Tori is very similar, but when these two let down the walls, and learn about the past then slowly they come to realize that they harbored feelings that weren’t’ necessarily justified in the blanket way they used them.

This story gave me just enough suspense and action mixed with intimate moments, and I really enjoyed the way this story played out.  This is my first book by Tee O’Fallon but it will not be my last.
