This is the final installment in the Shattered series, and it concludes on a high note, but I was still left wanting more. I have been anxiously awaiting it, and while I got satisfaction in the relationship between JoJo and Kane, I am still left wanting more when it comes to Penelope. This is my reasoning for my 3-star rating. While I understand that she is a secondary character, her arc was extremely important to the overall story. Without here, this book would have taken a completely different direction. That being said, I did enjoy the conclusion to this story. JoJo and Kane are truly meant to be… they may have taken the longest route possible and there might have been an ocean of chaos between them, but you believe their connection. You believe the HEA that they get. And you are happy with conclusion of the way in which Alma is dealt with. Kane struggles with this throughout the book, but he makes decisions and choices based on what JoJo would want him to…. Would she be willing to look past his choices if he went the direction that he truly wanted. Would he be willing to?? There is a great supporting cast in this story and while you got glimpses of them in the previous books, you get a feel of how they are connected with Kane in a way he didn’t really see until these moments. If you are looking for a steamy book this is not it… this for me fall more into the women’s fiction genre than the romance, but I still recommend it.
