Review: Bachelor on the Shelf by Jana Aston
Rating: 5/5
Series: Reindeer Falls book 6
Tropes: Instant Connection, baseball player, Floof in charge, Holiday Romance, Small Town Romance
Bachelor on the Shelf is book 6 in the Reindeer Falls Series, it is the third book in the 2021 collection. This is by far my favorite of them all!
This novella quickly raises to the top due to some fun and witty banter.
Cater has a life outside of Reindeer Falls. A professional baseball player, he is only in town to enjoy the holidays, but also claim ownership to the dog, Rudy, that his late uncle left to him. Carter is a bit of a fast talking, full of swagger, and clearly lets everyone know how much he does not have time for a dog.
Lexi is the foster-mom to the sweet dog. Lexi has been taking care of Rudy for a while. She loves him. Her affection for Rudy makes it tough to hand him over Carter.
But Carter is in a bit of a pickle and needs Lexi’s help. In exchange of pretending to be Carter fiancé Lexi will regain ownership of the dog. Real emotions enter the equation, they’re both miscommunicating. They are kind of a hot mess.
Carter is really a good guy underneath his swagger. Lexi seems to come alive under Carter’s attention. They have chemistry and are so great on the page together. There’s a little bit of angst, some light, funny in the end it brought all the Christmas feels. These fun and sexy Christmas Novellas are just what you need to get you in the holiday spirit.
