Elena mistakes Jack for her blind date, and he doesn’t correct her.  What follows is a series of events that make you want to not put this book down until it is finished.   I enjoyed this story so much… Elena is a woman who has been jilted by her ex.  Jack is a man that has been damaged by his past.  But what Jack doesn’t see is that the love of the right person makes everything change for the better… It doesn’t hinder your life.  When you find out the reasoning for Jack’s hang-ups and issues you want to hug him, but then you want to junk punk him because of the way in which he annihilates the relationship that has become essential to his being.

Elena is all in and wants Jack to be all in as well.  She gets glimmers of it, and more from him than he has ever given anyone, but he still holds secrets and a lot of himself back because he is afraid that she is going to use his past against him like a lot of people in his life have done before.  There is a lot of growth on Jack’s part, and it isn’t easy, and pretty heartbreaking, but at the same time, Elena heals him in a way he never knew he needed.

There is a great secondary cast that supports these two characters, and the story wouldn’t be the same if Madden-Mills didn’t utilize them in the way in which she does.  I really enjoyed the way in which they are performing and learning Romeo and Juliet along with their budding romance, and how big of a role this play takes in their story.  I adore the fact that Elena is strong and confident… that she stands up for what she wants, and when she realizes that Jack isn’t able or willing to give her what she knows she needs and what he feels, she takes herself out of the equation.  And when he starts to grovel… he grovels well.  You truly need ot read this story to get the full effect.
