I love this series by Marie James and I have been looking forward to Jude’s story and while I enjoyed it. I had a really hard time with Parker. You meet her in the previous book because they run simultaneously to one another and I really didn’t care for her. I thought she wasn’t the best friend to someone she was supposedly love and cared for in Hayden. And there were moments in this book where she is extremely selfish and immature in her reactions especially when it came to Hayden and her relationship with Deacon. Then there were the moments with Jude. They had electric chemistry, but she was just plain mean to him at times. I have no issue with a story about friends with benefits or the like, but the way in which Parker treats Jude makes her small. Jude is a character that I loved. This guy has a lot of insecurities and issues because of his shyness and his feelings and actions are justified. It is almost frustrating because as you have gotten to know him over the course of the books you can understand the type of person he is, and the worst parts of him come out because of Parker. Although they came out with Parker and only Parker. Which she truly deserves. I am happy to say that by the end of the book, while I still can’t say that I like Parker, I do not dislike her as much. And that is the saving grace here, and why this is a three star read for me. I wanted more from Parker and had I gotten more growth and change it would have been a four star because I can’t get enough of this group of me.
