Lani Lynn Vale writes it and I read it.  One thing about this author is she takes liberties and isn’t afraid to do it. She allows her characters to live in the gray.  Sometimes their choices aren’t the ones that people agree with or think are right, but they do it because it is what makes them happy and what is right.

Bain and Diana (Luce to Bain) met when she was dating his brother.  She had a crush on Bain, but because she was with Braxton and he is older than them, she never did anything about it.  She stayed with Braxton for reasons that aren’t really the best, but at the same time make sense.  But Braxton truly showed her the type of person he is, and they divorced.  Luce kept in touch with his family and when Bain when to jail protecting her, she was a little bit heartbroken.

Bain is out now, and while there is some push and pull, she isn’t going to let him go eer again.  I love Vale’s work and the way she creates these relationships.  They both have a little bit of a possessive vibe, and I am okay with it.  Things aren’t easy because there are some outside forces that don’t want them to be happy, but don’t’ worry all is taken care of.  There is humor, there is suspense, there is dirty talk.  All in all, this book is exactly what I wanted and needed.
