Good Spirits by B.K. Borison
A cozy, magical romance that sparkles with holiday spirit and unexpected love.
The dedication hooked me before I’d even started, and from that point on I was completely invested. Good Spirits is a fresh and magical take on a holiday romance—hopeful, cozy, and brimming with heart.
Harriet’s December isn’t off to the best start, despite Christmas being her favorite time of year, and it didn’t take long for me to feel protective of her. She’s so easy to root for, and the more I learned about Nolan—the Ghost of Christmas Past assigned to haunt her—the more my heart ached for him too. Their connection is tender, fated, and utterly believable. I’ve never met two characters who felt more destined for one another; they complement each other in every way.
This book was a snow globe full of happiness; a blend of whimsy and warmth that made me smile even as I worried over how Borison could possibly bring these two together. Yes, I trusted the romance to deliver a happily ever after, but the thought of either of them experiencing even a flicker of heartbreak made me ache. That’s how much I cared about them.
The ending felt a little rushed—I would have happily spent more time with Harriet and Nolan—but overall, this was exactly the book I needed to kick off my holiday reading season. Magical, hopeful, and beautifully unique, Good Spirits has secured a spot on my yearly reread list.
This was my first book by B.K. Borison, but it will not be my last. And I cannot wait to see what’s next in this series.
