On this episode, Becky is joined by guest co-host Carla and authors Natalie Caña and Angelina M Lopez. They are with all the book recs to help you build the ultimate TBR list for Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month. But we’re not stopping there—celebrating diverse voices shouldn’t be limited to just one month. We’ll share some of our favorite Latinx and Hispanic authors, plus tips on how to read more diversely all year long. Let’s honor and embrace the richness of different cultures through the stories we read!

Meet the authors

Natalie Caña

Natalie Caña has been many things: a teacher of fun-sized to king-sized humans, a seriously unqualified softball coach, a scaredy-cat Halloween store manager, an Emmy award winning public television producer, and more. The one thing she’s ALWAYS been, since she first picked up a pencil, is a writer.

She loves to incorporate her you’ll-never-believe-what-just-happened-to-me personal experiences, enthusiasm for telenovela tomfoolery, and love for her Latinx culture into creating funny, heartfelt, and just a little bit over-the-top contemporary romances for characters who look and sound like her.

When she’s not writing in her peaceful, Hamilton-themed office, Natalie can most often be found engaging in shenanigans with most of her family (who almost all live within a ten block radius) or taking naps with her fur baby, Mr. Bruno Mars (Also known as, He Who Doesn’t Feel Like Doing Anything).

Angelina M Lopez

Angelina M. Lopez wrote “arthur” when her kindergarten teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. In the years since she learned to spell the word correctly, she’s been a journalist for an acclaimed city newspaper, a freelance magazine writer, and a content marketer for small businesses. Finally she found her way back to “author.”
Angelina writes sexy stories about strong women and the worthy men. The fact that her parents own a vineyard in California’s Russian River Valley might imply a certain hedonism about her; it’s absolutely true. Once the dog dies, she and her husband plan on being footloose-and-fancy-free empty nesters in Houston, Texas.
Her first book in a new high-heat, small town, Latinx series, After Hours on Milagro Street, was named a best romance of 2022 by The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, and the Fated Mates podcast, and an Amazon Best Book of the Month. Her debut book, Lush Money, was named a Top 10 Romance Debut of 2020.
