Blaze by Laramie Briscoe
I was really excited about Blaze, book 3 in the Bradford Station series. I love a secret baby romance. Chase and Delia were married then one day, Chase comes home from a shift at the firehouse to an empty house. Two years later, he still doesn’t know what happened. Or where she is until he is called to an accident scene and there is his wife and a child. Delia was so in love with Chase, but when he gets hurt on the job she panics. This flow of this story was well done and it worked in the ways that I needed.
But then the book just ends. I feel let down because the story itself doesn’t come full circle. There isn’t enough communication about the issues that plagued Delia. Honesty, when I got to the epilogue, my first thought was… really it’s over. I wanted more conversation. More explanation. More conflict between Chase and Delia.
Usually I love Laramie Briscoe’s stories, but this one fell short for me. I just need more of this book. I wanted them to have a fight, have a conversation, have something to hash out the real reason she left. It’s a good story… but just not enough.
