This book gave me everything I want in a LLV book, an intense emotional relationship.  Some suspense, a strong heroine, a wonderful supporting cast of characters, and a well-developed storyline that I could enjoy.

Haggard and Sophia have been circling each other for years.  Haggard is Sophia’s dad’s best friend as well her best friend’s dad.  She has had feelings for him for a long time, and he has had feelings for her but does everything that he can to avoid acknowledging it.

Sophia is still moving past the death of her brother, and her dad Madden is floundering in his grief.  She has decided that she wants to move forward with Haggard, but he is still fighting things.  That is until Sophia is injured.  He makes the choice that he is done staying away.  He is done worrying about what other people might thing.  She is his.  There is an underlying storyline because of an act that happens early on in the book, and the moment it all comes to a head is heartbreaking.  Sophia’s world implodes and she isn’t sure how she can come back from it.  Haggard is there to support her, and I help her heal.  This is an excellent start to the Battle Crows MC series.
