On this Episode of Buzzing About Romance we are chatting with author Willow Winters about finding your path in the world and advocating for the greater good. We will high light her Charity Live A Thousand Lives Project.
Meet Willow Winters: Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
The Live A Thousand Lives Project sprang from the desire to make audiobooks more accessible to the mobility-impaired community.
For our family, friends and other individuals with physical handicaps and degenerative disorders, manipulating physical books presents a unique challenge. Audiobooks offer a solution.
But opening apps, scrolling catalogs and the fine motor movements some take for granted create an obstacle between the mobile-impaired and their favorite stories.
The Live A Thousand Lives Project has been fueled by prolific Romance writers and unabashed book lovers who appreciate that audiobooks boost mental health, improve memory and stimulate the brain in ways that mirror reading printed text. Books feed our soul and fuel our imagination. We whole-heartedly feel these benefits should be available to people of all-abilities.

Romantic Buzz: RWA Vivian AWARDS
This time in the Romantic Buzz we talk about the controversy surrounding the latest awards and the winner of the Spiritual Romance Award. We are link both the Washington Post Article about the book and the problematic nature of it and also the RWA’s response.
The Book in question is At Love’s Command by Karen Witemeyer — opens with a depiction of the Wounded Knee Massacre that some readers and authors have criticized as romanticizing the killing of Native Americans. The book’s Publisher Bethany House, a Christian publisher.
