When I tell you that this was one of my favorite books of the fall, I am being so serious. I picked up this book after seeing it on my Instagram a handful of times and this book was EVERYTHING. Libby’s best friend is cursed to die. She needs to do everything she can to break the curse because (of course) she’s in love with him. Carter Coldwell has been Libby’s best friend since they were kids, and now he’s engaged to someone else. Libby is the only person outside of Carter’s family to know about the curse and she’s determined for them to be together.

In the middle of the engagement party when Libby needs an escape, she hides in the library to catch her breath, only to realize she’s not alone. Well, maybe she is alone? She’s seeing things, right? There’s no way there’s a ghost in here with her. So when the ghost reveals he’s Carter’s cousin Trip who is actually in a coma…they decide they can work together. Libby needs to break the curse so Carter can be in love with her, and Trip thinks breaking the curse will break his coma. Did I mention that Trip is hot? Because he is a very attractive ghost. Libby is the only person who’s been able to see him and now they’re working together and she’s not certain which Coldwell she’s falling for.

“Is it so hard to believe that someone would choose you?”
“No one ever has.”

The witty humor in this book was phenomenal, dry and (literally) laugh out loud funny. Every character introduced felt significant and necessary and real. Special shoutout to Babcia for being the absolute best grandma in a book in a very long time. I cannot recommend this one enough! Such a good story that had me hooked for the entire time I read it. I can’t do this one justice without feeling like I’m giving things away, but the humor, the romance, the FLIRTING? All so great. Read this one now!
