Whiskey Proposal | Walker Rose

Huckleberry Springs, Montana is not a place Emerson Langley wants to return to; her memories of her hometown are filled with mixed emotions. But that is where she finds herself after her father dies, and face to face with a man that she can’t forget. Lane Foster. Emerson has a lot of feelings that she has not really addressed from her childhood and to be fair she has been let down a lot by those that were supposed to love her unconditionally.

Lane Foster is a natural care taker and thrives when he is taking care of others. Like the way he took his elderly neighbor under his wing, cared for and befriended him. I liked how he learned about Emerson through her father, and is intuitive to her. I really love how Lane was all in from the start! I mean he was obsessed with his wife- which we all love! He just knew that Emerson was the person for him. I appreciated how he pushed her a little but then backed off and let her see him. Lane is steady, consistent, patient, but most of all he sees Emerson. He sees the girl that has so much love to give but she also has to learn how to accept the love that is offered.  Emerson learned from a young age that love and trust can be taken and broken in an instant. My heart really hurt for her and for the little girl that should have been shown love. As she opened her heart to not only Lane but the town of Huckleberry Springs she learned to love and trust again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and I love how Clementine’s book is teased in this book and I cannot wait for what is next.  If you enjoy a small town with an amazing group of strong women who support one another, men that are obsessed with their wives, some amazing cocktails with a fair amount of spice, this series and book is most definitely for you!
