Locke | Sawyer Bennett

One of the best things about Sawyer Bennett is that her heroines are always, always women that you would want to be friends with.  And Livia Cross is no different. Livia is new to the Wildfire team and plays an essential role in the success of players helping to improve performance on ice as the teams new high-performance consultant. Livia is very educated, smart, funny, athletic as heck, and down to earth. She is extremely passionate about her job and being a hometown Portland girl has all the inside hot spots that I loved! She is quick to build friendships but also has her own active life outside of work … .and the most annoying ex I have read in a very long time! Lexie really fought her attraction to Locke….but their connection could not be ignored.
To say Locke Donovan is emotionally closed off is the understatement of the century. He is also the best defenseman in the league but his attitude and quick temper make him a liability.  Even on his new team. Wildfire teammates and coaching staff know there is something deeper going on and Locke needs to make some changes for his job, the only thing that he truly cares about is on the line. He very very reluctantly agrees to work with the performance consultant. Locke certainly tries to ignore his pull to Lexie but finally gives in and sort of throws caution to the wind.  While their sexual chemistry is off the charts he is also beginning to grow closer to her revealing more about himself than ever before.

If you enjoy tension, chemistry, and a grumpy hero that doesn’t trust, and a persistent heroine this book should definitely be on your kindle. The Wildfire series is at the top of my list as most anticipated releases of 2027 and I cannot wait for what is next!
