Long Way Found | CJ Chambers

Second chance romances have to be done right, and friends this one really captured my heart. Luke and Jack were in love in high school when their futures brought them in different directions. Jack to the military and Luke to Hollywood and modeling. However, their hometown of Calder Ridge, Colorado drew them both back.

Luke created a successful business and a strong found family back in Calder Ridge where everyone knows and loves him. He creates a safe place for so many in his community center and has lots of folks looking out for him. From an outsider it may look like his life is pretty perfect but he worked hard for what he has and life hasn’t been easy for him. But that doesn’t bring him down.

Being a military “brat” he moved around a lot but you can tell that Calder Ridge holds a special place in his heart.  So when his military career is over and a job opportunity is presented he finds himself back … .and face to face with his high school love.

I am pretty sure Jack broke my heart along with Luke’s- there was a point in time where I had to actually put my kindle down and walk away from the book.  My heart hurt too much for Luke and Jack. Jack has never really been able to decide what he wants. He went where the military took him so making his own decisions was hard and each time he would get close and start to open up to Luke he would immediately pull back, shut down, and stop communicating. One of the aspects I loved the most was there was a lot of space for miscommunication but the author really pushed these characters to talk and work through the issues.  I appreciated how Luke sort of “called” Jack out and they worked through it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for what is next in this series!
