The Comeback King | Riley Hart

Riley Hart has done it again folks- she broke me in the best way possible! I literally had to put my kindle down because I got so many tears on my glasses I couldn’t see.  

Lucas and Hunter have a long history and each have a fair amount of unresolved emotions and feelings. Hunter is really struggling not only in his personal life but also his professional life as a football player.  Touted to be one of the best players, Hunter’s career took off, but when tragedy struck his game and personal life suffered.  Lucas is very independent but also is struggling with his place in his family but his professional life is thriving.  He just doesn’t have many people to share in the success. Both Hunter and Lucas are very lonely and need a real connection and someone that they can just be themselves around. 

Their reconnection is really amazing, and I love how neither were expecting to see one another despite living in the same city. It was clear from their initial eye contact that they were drawn together. Hart did an amazing job with the chemistry and the tension. Oh my goodness the tension was so so good- I was just yelling for them to kiss already! These two really balanced one another out and had stellar banter but most of all they were 100% able to be themselves with one another. There were so many emotions, and the family drama… let me tell you I was on the edge of my seat! Then in true Riley Hart fashion she introduces us to characters that we love and adore and also have to cross all of our fingers that they are getting a book, too!  This was an amazing start to a new series and I hope we get more glimpses into Hunter and Lucas’ life because they truly do deserve all of the happiness in the world!
