Small Town Smokeshow picks up in Calloway Ranch where we left off after Cowboy Casual and if you need a book with chemistry that basically jumps off the page from the Prologue, you’re in the right place. Their story starts off with some fairly basic facts: Hunter and Maggie are friends. Maggie is his ex’s little sister. They have boundaries for a reason. They can’t be more than that for so many reasons. Hunter and Maggie are friends.

I had a lot of high expectations going into this read because I was coming from reading Cowboy Casual and I was in LOVE with Colt. If you know me, you know I love a single dad trope. However, the taboo feeling of the man you’re falling for being your sister’s ex has the tension between them rocketing off the CHARTS. Hunter is down bad for Maggie and as much as he tries to suppress it…he’s a lovesick puppy. The dynamic of the Calloway brothers shines so brightly when it comes to how much they pick on Hunter. The greatest part of it all is that it’s done out of so much love for both of them!
The real standout in this book? The found family that Maggie realizes was hers the whole time. Maggie is not local to the town, but she has fit in seamlessly and I fell in love so much with all of them. Nothing gets me more in my feelings than someone realizing they belong. I have so many good things to say about this book but the most I can tell you is that Small Town Smokeshow and Cowboy Casual are both available on Kindle Unlimited NOW or wherever books are sold.
