On Thin Ice by Kelly Jamieson

I’m a longtime fan of Kelly Jamieson’s hockey romances, so I was excited to dive into On Thin Ice, and overall it was a solid addition to the New Jersey Storm series.

The setup immediately pulled me in—one unforgettable night in Vegas between Marek, a professional hockey player, and Nicki, a pop star, turns into something much more complicated when their paths cross again after a life-altering accident. I always enjoy stories that explore reconnection and emotional healing, and this book leans into both.

Marek was definitely the standout character for me. He falls hard and early, and his protective, nurturing side was incredibly appealing. Watching him step up to support Nicki while she struggled with recovery and survivor’s guilt added a lot of heart to the story. His devotion and patience made him an easy hero to root for.

The book balances emotional moments with plenty of heat, which is something Jamieson consistently does well. The high chemistry between the characters keeps the pages turning, and fans of protective heroes and steamy hockey romances will definitely find a lot to enjoy here.

While parts of the romance leaned a bit heavily on miscommunication for my taste, the story still delivered an engaging mix of emotion, spice, and hockey romance drama.

Overall, On Thin Ice was an enjoyable read, and I’m always happy to return to Kelly Jamieson’s hockey worlds.
