Finn | Ashley James
This book really checked all of the boxes for me…grumpy/sunshine, nanny/single dad, cowboy, dirty talker and the list keeps going. If you love any of those tropes this definitely needs to be on your kindle!
Finn Moore is a busy rancher who is also a single father of a sweet little very active little boy, Tucker and in desperate need of a new nanny. I would also say that Finn isn’t the warmest of characters- initially. It is clear from the start that his son is the most important thing in the world to him, but he also loves his family ranch. So when his friends with bennies suggest her brother he is very very hesitant. Finn was so clearly all about keeping things separate. The in comes Ash and in a bit of a flurry and Finn just cannot say no. Ash in desperate need of a job is really hesitant to move back to his small Texas town but he also needs a job. And he falls head over heels for Finn’s son Tucker. I love how dynamic Ash is- he has so many interests he loves yoga and being mindful but he also will belly up to a bar and drink beers with the guys. I also appreciated that James highlighted a tricky sibling relationship; not everything is perfect all of the time and the struggles that Ash and Violet experience are felt real.
One of the best parts of this book is the way Finn tries to deny his attraction to Ash- and Ash just keeps pushing Finn further out of his comfort zone. Their banter and inner dialogue was one of my favorite parts of this book. Finn and Ash have an easy connection and friendship but the sexual chemistry is literally off the charts. This book was spicy, and the dirty talking was TOP TIER!!! Finn was the best surprise ever. Finn needed someone like Ash to pull him out of his shell, have some fun and support him when he needed it. In turn Finn did the same for Ash. I am absolutely in love with the Moore family and I cannot wait to get more from them!!!
