Montana Silence by Josie Jade
This series continues to be emotionally charged, but it’s all the right spots.
If you have read any of the Resting Warrior Ranch series then you have already met Mara and Liam. *Side note: this series can be macheted till your heart’s content.* In Montana Silence, we finally find out why Mara is such a quiet character. Not quiet is body, but voice. Mara is someone who we know little about. But as you read her story you find that silence was a virtue and she was taught that women/girls are to be seen and used but not heard.
But once you hear her backstory, you find out why.
Mara was raised in a cult with extremely unsavory ideals and practices. She is able to escape when the cult is raided and its leader is put into jail. She finds her way to Rising Warrior Ranch and has been there ever since. One thing about this series is the positive force and focus there is on therapy. That therapy is good but can be this practices can be in different ways. Whether it is sitting and taking to someone, or being out in the world working with nature.
Liam hides behind humor and sarcasm.
He is a character from the Resting Warrior Ranch series that we have gotten snippet views. We know that he harbors feelings for Mara, but has yet to act on them. As the other men of the ranch, we know that he is protective of those in his circle. But in Montana Silence we get his entire backstory. Why he hides behind that humor. Where his thoughts lead him, and his true feelings about Mara.
But what happens when Mara’s past comes back.
I have loved the way in which these stories play out… there is intrigue, there is mystery. But there is also a found family that will lay down their lives for one another. These are the types of stories that you truly need to read to get the full gamit of emotions and action.
